2025 South West BMX Regional Series

Get ready for an epic season of racing as the 2025 South West BMX Regional Series kicks off! With 10 rounds spread across some of the best tracks in the region, this is your chance to earn your place in the rankings, compete with the best, and ride for glory!

🏆 Qualification & Trophies

  • Expert Riders: Must complete 7 out of 10 rounds to qualify for a Regional Expert Ranking & Trophy.

  • All Riders completing 7 rounds will receive a trophy — no matter where they finish.

  • Novice Riders will receive end-of-season standings and a trophy, but no round-by-round awards.

Note: Riders under 13 and novices are not permitted to ride clips.


📝 Registration Info

  • Pre-Registration Closes: 23:55 on the Wednesday before the event

  • Refunds: Only available if requested before midnight on the Saturday prior to race day

  • No transfers to other rounds

  • On-the-day Registration is available but at an extra cost


🔢 Race Plates

  • All riders must use BC-compliant race plates and side plates

  • Expert riders can ride with regional green background, national, euro, or world plates (as per SWBMXA guidance)

  • New riders will receive a number on race day

Race format includes:

  • 3 Qualifying Motos

  • Quarters (if needed)

  • Semis

  • Finals (after a 30-minute break)

    * please note these times are approximate, please listen out for announcements


🏅 South West Championships Info

  • Automatic qualification for riders whose primary club is in the South West

  • Out-of-region riders may race but must:

    • Compete in the same class as their own regional series

    • Are not eligible for SW1 ranking

  • No novice class at the Champs

  • Riders who have “ridden up” must remain in that category


🇬🇧 2025 British Championships Qualification

  • Experts must complete:

    • 5 regionals in their primary class (20” or Cruiser)

    • 3 regionals in their secondary class

  • Novices are not eligible unless promoted to Expert and meet the criteria


⚠️ Important Reminders

  • British Cycling Entry System must be used to enter all rounds

  • Transponders are mandatory – ensure they’re activated via MyLaps before race day
