The South Region BMX Summer Series 2025 is set to be an action-packed season of high-speed racing! With nine rounds at top tracks across the South, this series is the perfect opportunity for riders to compete, earn points, and qualify for The Brits. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to regional racing, this is the place to be!

- Round 2 – 13th April – Andover
- Round 3 – 27th April – Cyclopark
- Round 4 – 11th May – Gosport

- Round 6 – 22nd June – Peckham
- Round 7 – 13th July – Bexhill
- Round 8 – 20th July – Hayes Hawkes
- Round 9 – 10th August – Knightwood

📝 How Do I Register?
All entries must be made online via the British Cycling website – no on-the-day entries. Registration closes Thursday at 23:55 before each race.
💰 Race Fees
- Male & Female (6 & Under to 16) – £17
- Male & Female (17+) – £18.50
- Payback Classes – £20
- Second Bike Entry – £12
Late entries will be charged at double the standard fee and are only accepted at the organiser’s discretion.
🎟 Who Can Race?
The series is open to expert-level riders only. Here are the available categories:
Male/Open: 7-16, 17-18, 19-29, Masters (30+), Vets (40+), Grand Vets (50+), 55+
Female: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 19-29, 30+
Cruiser: 9-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-29, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+
Mixed: 6 & Under, 9-12 Cruiser
Payback: Male & Female 17+
There is no novice racing at South Region events this year.
🚴 Do I Need a Transponder?
Yes! The South Region uses MyLaps transponders with Sqorz race software. Riders must have an active, working transponder on their bike to compete.
❌ There are no hire transponders at South Region races. No transponder = no race!

🏅 How Do Points & Awards Work?
- Points are awarded for overall race position in each class.
- The top 16 riders will compete in A & B finals (if enough entries).
- Your best 5 results from the 9 rounds count toward your final series standing.
🏆 Top 8 finishers in each category qualify for regional trophies.
🥈 Medals are awarded for 9th place and below in 12 & Under age groups.
💰 Payback Classes: 1st – £160 | 2nd – £80 | 3rd – £50 | 4th – £30 | (5th-8th £20 if 12+ riders).
🎽 What Should I Wear?
- Full-face helmet with a peak (10cm minimum)
- Long-sleeved BMX/motocross-style jersey
- Race gloves (full-fingered)
- BMX race pants OR shorts with full shin protection
- Number & side plates are required from the first lap of practice
👕 Regional number plates are allowed. If you don’t have a national ranking number, use the last three digits of your British Cycling membership.
🚦 How Do I Qualify for The British Championships?
To qualify for The Brits, you must:
✅ Race at 5 South Region events (3 races for second bike entry)
✅ Complete each race in full
Discretionary qualification is available only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., medical reasons with proof).
