The BMX East Summer Series 2025 is here! Riders from across the region will battle it out across eight exciting rounds, culminating in the EA Champs in September. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or a newcomer looking to experience high-energy BMX competition, this series is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills.

This year’s Summer Series features eight rounds at top tracks across the East region. Here’s where and when the action is happening:
- Round 1 – 23rd March – Ipswich
- Round 2 – 13th April – Braintree
- Round 3 – 27th April – Lee Valley Velopark
- Round 4 – 18th May – Royston
- Round 5 – 8th June – Norwich
- Round 6 – 29th June – Milton Keynes
- Round 7 – 20th July – Cyclopark
- Round 8 – 3rd August – Peterborough

❓ FAQs – What You Need to Know
📝 How Do I Register?
All entries must be made online via the British Cycling website – no on-the-day entries are allowed. Make sure to register before 23:30 on the Friday before each event to secure your spot.
💰 Race Fees
- Single Class Entry – £18 (includes BC booking fee)
- Two-Class Entry – £26 (for the same rider)
- Late Entries – £30 per class (only in exceptional cases)
🎟 Who Can Race?
The series is open to riders of all levels, with categories for different age groups:
Male: 6 & under, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Open 13+, Superclass (17+), Masters (30+), Veteran (40+)
Female: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17+, Superclass Women (17+)
Cruiser: 9-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45+, Ladies 13-16, 17-29, 30+
Superclass/Women are payback classes (17+ or 15-16 with approval).
🚴 Do I Need a Transponder?
Yes! The BMX East Series uses the MyLaps transponder system for race scoring. Riders must have an active MyLaps Pro Chip Flex transponder registered to each bike they race on.
If you don’t have one, a limited number of transponders can be rented for £5 per race, with a £20 refundable deposit.

🏅 How Do Points and Awards Work?
- Riders earn points based on their finishing positions at each round.
- Your best 6 results from the 8 rounds count toward your final series standing.
- To qualify for an end-of-season trophy, you must compete in at least 6 rounds.
🏆 Superclass categories offer payback prizes if 4 or more riders are entered.
🎽 What Should I Wear?
- Long-sleeved jerseys and full-finger gloves are mandatory.
- Riders must wear BMX/motocross-specific long pants or shorts with knee and shin protection.
- Full-face helmets are required, with visors of at least 10cm.
❌ No skinsuits, zippered jerseys, or tight-fitting stretch material pants unless worn under approved gear.
🚦 How Do I Qualify for the British Championships?
To qualify for The Brits, you must:
✅ Compete in at least 5 East Region Series events in your main class.
✅ Compete in at least 3 East Region Series events in your second class (if applicable).
📢 Once qualified, riders will receive a regional number plate sticker for The Brits!
